Fausto E. Zapata, Jr., has been driven to fight on behalf of workers for a long time. As a college student, he advocated on behalf of workers by acting as a Shop Steward at a Hospital. While studying at The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, he was a summer Associate at a prominent law firm specializing in union-side Labor and Employment law, and he also participated in the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee Minority Outreach Program. After graduating from law school in 2002, he worked as an Assistant General Counsel with District Council 37, AFSCME, AFL-CIO, General Counsel's Office where he handled a wide variety of labor and employment matters, including administrative trials and hearings, government investigations, state and federal litigation, and improper practice charges. After leaving District Council 37, Mr. Zapata opened The Law Offices of Fausto E. Zapata, Jr., which focuses on representing employees, labor unions, and victims of discrimination.
Fausto Zapata has represented clients at the National Labor Relations Board, American Arbitration Association, New York City Office of Collective Bargaining, New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings, New York City Civil Service Commission, New York State Supreme Court, and United States District Court, Southern District of New York.
