Mishael Minnie Pine
I started out by working as a volunteer attorney with various pro bono programs in New York City, including Access to Justice (handling in-court landlord-tenant and consumer debt cases, and performing consultations in family law) and the Volunteer Foreclosure Project sponsored by the Queens County Bar Association (which focuses on foreclosure settlement conferences). I gained valuable experience from these programs and started handling cases on my own in 2010, starting with landlord-tenant and consumer debt cases. I have also been a court appointed GAL, and have been appointed several GAL cases in the boroughs. My practice then progressed into some family law matters, foreclosure defense matters, and Article 81 guardianship matters for adults. In addition, I've handled a few criminal defense cases; and most recently, I have worked with other attorneys on federal cases, focusing on prisoner litigation, employment and constitutional law matters with an emphasis on religious liberty.
I believe in practicing honest law and helping the community at large. There are so many people coming into the court system stressed and depressed with little to no representation; furthermore, the lack of representation has lead to a grave injustice for hundreds of thousands of people in New York City alone. My objective is to be a great resource for the community, and if I am unable to address an individual's issue, I will do my best to direct them to someone who can.
