Mary Liberty

Mary Liberty is the principal and founding attorney of Illinois Estate Law, a modern, flat-fee practice focused on estate planning, probate administration, and related family-law matters across Illinois.

Ms. Liberty graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016, earning dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Social Work—a combination that uniquely blends analytical rigor with client-centered advocacy. She obtained her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2020, where her coursework and clinical work emphasized trusts, estates, and family law. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in January 2021.

Since entering practice, Ms. Liberty has devoted her career to guiding individuals and families through the full spectrum of estate-planning and probate matters—from drafting complex trust instruments to administering estates and advising fiduciaries. She also maintains a complementary family-law portfolio, allowing her to address the intersection of inheritance, guardianship, and domestic-relations issues with a holistic perspective.

In 2025, Super Lawyers recognized Ms. Liberty as a “Rising Star,” an honor reserved for no more than 2.5 percent of Illinois attorneys under 40 or in practice fewer than ten years. This distinction reflects her record of professional achievement, commitment to continuing legal education, and reputation among peers.

Committed to delivering sophisticated counsel in an accessible format, Ms. Liberty founded Illinois Estate Law in June 2024. The firm employs a statewide virtual-office model complemented by strategically located meeting suites, enabling clients to receive high-caliber legal services without geographic barriers or unpredictable billing.
