Linda M Kaplan
Linda graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Florida and then entered the Management Training program at the First National Bank of Miami (Southeast Bank). She was elected an officer of the bank after three years. During her time at the bank, she took graduate courses in Finance from Florida International University. She returned to the University of Florida to earn a J.D. degree. After the J.D. program, she attended the postdoctoral LL.M. program at New York University where she earned an LL.M. in Taxation. This degree program is considered the top tax law program in the country.
When she first started practicing law in 1977, Linda was handling taxation and international business matters as well as immigration and nationality matters. After a number of years, she decided to accept only immigration and nationality law cases. Her work in immigration involves both family immigration and business immigration for which she is especially well qualified because of her extensive business, tax, finance, and accounting background. She has the ability to read and understand business plans, financial statements, tax returns and other business and financial documents which are an important part of business petitions. This tax and business background is also useful in complicated affidavit of support issues for family-based immigration petitions.
