Although my firm practices in several different fields of law, my expertise is primarily in Mortgage Foreclosure Defense,Divorce & Family Law, Bankruptcy, and Mortgage loan modification. - Q. Can "Written in the Stars" be used for a NJ astrology business? Legal aspects?
- A: I seriously doubt that "Written in the Stars." can be copyrighted. Copyright law is designed to protect original works of authorship that are fixed in a tangible medium (like a novel, song lyrics, or artwork). However, short phrases, slogans, titles, and other brief expressions generally do not qualify for copyright protection. This means that the phrase "Written in the Stars" by itself would not typically be eligible for copyright. This does not fit that definition. THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE! YOU NEED TO SPEAK TO AN ATTORNEY WHO IS LICENSED IN YOUR STATE FOR LEGAL ADVICE. This is merely suggestions for you to think about in discussing your situation with the local attor ... Read More
- Q. Loaned $3,000, not repaid as agreed, considering suing.
- A: It is not going to be cost effective for you to retain an experienced civil litigation to represent you in small claims court. But you should be aware, the person you loaned money to can easily file for Bankruptcy (depending on that persons over all circumstances). You have to follow the Court rules and no one here can provide you with a course in how to represent yourself in small claims court. Good luck.
- Q. What should I expect in a sole custody case against incarcerated father with threatening behavior?
- A: You need to retain an experienced matrimonial attorney with extensive domestic violence trial experience. You will be able to obtain primary residential custody, with the Defendant precluded from having any contact with both you and the child. You will probably need to file a separate custody action. But to determine that more facts are required. Pick the best attorney you can find and remember one rule: a good attorney is generally never cheap, and a cheap attorney is generally never good so don't choose based on price. With modern technology, you can be represented by any high-quality attorney in New Jersey irrespective of geography.
