- A: Your issue may be due to the online portal to receive a stimulus check. If you completed the process through the IRS’s online portal to get a stimulus check and have not filed your taxes, the IRS has filed a $1 tax return To get the money out to you. That is most likely the issue you are having with TurboTax. I suggest you consult a tax attorney familiar with the process to help resolve your issue

- A: Suppose your husband incurred the debt before you guys married, then the debt is in his name alone. However, if the tax debt occurred during the marriage and you file Married Filing Joint, you are also responsible for the tax debt. The best way to protect yourself from having any refunds or credits that are due taken is to file Married Filing Separate. However, be warned that you will lose out on some credits using this method
