Kathleen Balthrop Havener
Kathleen B. Havener is first a problem-solver.
An experienced trial lawyer who focuses on a complex commercial litigation practice, her aim is to partner with clients to provide wise counsel and practical common-sense solutions in combination with the advocacy and writing skills essential to any first-rate litigation attorney.
Ms. Havener has appeared in many state and federal trial and appellate courts across the country. She has conducted mediations and arbitrations (including international arbitration), and represented clients in administrative proceedings.
Ms. Havener served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable John M. Ferren on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. She was formerly with Latham & Watkins and Miller & Chevalier in D.C. before relocating to Ohio in 1997. Ms. Havener was a partner in the law firm of Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP in Cleveland before founding a small firm. Kathleen returned to the District of Columbia and joined The Cullen Law Firm in 2018. She values the flexibility to enter into creative fee arrangements that sophisticated clients demand.

She is also a recipient of the Nettie Cronise Lutes Award conferred by the Ohio State Bar Association in 2013. The award recognizes women lawyers who have improved the legal profession through their high level of professionalism and who have opened doors for other women and girls.
