Justin William Aanenson
Truce Law, PLLC
Growing up, I was deeply inspired by the courtroom tales my grandfather, a criminal defense attorney in Helena, Montana, would share. These stories fueled my passion for law, leading me to become a licensed attorney in Washington State in 2012. I later founded Truce Law with the aim of providing a more constructive experience for clients dealing with family law issues. I am dedicated to making the divorce process simpler and less stressful by providing clients with the necessary tools to achieve amicable resolutions.
I am a collaboratively trained attorney and a certified mediator. My efforts in the field have been recognized when I was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers for the years 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, an honor awarded to less than 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state. My academic background includes a law degree from Seattle University School of Law, where I was honored as a Washington State Scholar, a distinction reserved for the top 1% of applicants. Additionally, I hold a degree in business administration with majors in finance and marketing from the University of Washington, and I have completed a certificate program in Popular Fiction Writing at UW.
Outside the professional sphere, I have a variety of hobbies that keep me engaged. I enjoy fly fishing, playing Commander—a variant of Magic: The Gathering—and I am actively working towards my goal of shooting par in golf.

Rates, Retainers and Additional Information
When you engage with Truce Law, PLLC pursuant to an hourly fee arrangement, we require that you deposit funds into a Trust Account before we begin work on your case. This deposit is referred to as an Initial Retainer. The amount you are required to deposit as an Initial Retainer will be clearly stated in your Legal Services Agreement and is determined by the type of legal services we are providing, your desired outcome, and the specific circumstances surrounding your matter. Your Initial Retainer will be held in an Interest on Lawyers Trust Account (IOLTA) or “Trust” until you are invoiced for the costs and fees associated with your matter. Depending on the stage of your matter and balance in your trust account, we may ask that you replenish the funds that you have in trust back to the amount of the initial retainer (or another amount we specify) to cover the cost of expected legal services. Unused funds at the conclusion of the case will be returned to you by check or direct deposit.
