Julian Burns King
Skilled & Tenacious Advocate for Workplace Equality and Justice
I exclusively represent workers who have faced injustice at work. My academic background and personal experiences have given me a deep understanding of the barriers to workplace equality for women and those from traditionally underrepresented groups. I am committed to dismantling these obstacles through my legal practice. I handle cases involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, with a focus on gender discrimination, issues related to the glass ceiling, and discrimination against pregnant workers and working parents.
Over the past three years, I have secured numerous seven-figure settlements, along with hundreds of settlements ranging from the mid-to-high six figures.
Before co-founding King & Siegel, I worked at two of the country's top litigation firms where I represented companies in high-stakes regulatory disputes. This experience taught me about the depth of large employers' resources and the tactics they use to delay and deny justice. I use this knowledge to offer personalized, aggressive representation to those who need it most.
Outside of my professional life, I am a mother of two children and a grumpy rescue dog.

- A: It depends. Your employer can request a certification of medical disability from your medical provider. However, under California law, there are limits on the types of information your employer can require you or your medical provider to disclose. For instance, they cannot require you to release all of your medical records. When you say "a form," it is not clear exactly what is being requested. But depending on how intrusive it is, it may not be allowed.
