My practice is 100% Divorce Mediation
My practice is 100% Divorce Mediation. I charge flat fees and mediate divorces for ALL Massachusetts counties and courts via Zoom video conference. Over 1500 divorces successfully mediated. Within 1-2 days of our first video conference I will get you a complete draft of a separation agreement and all 1A court documents, which will help put you and your spouse on the same page and lower conflict moving forward. You do not have to put this part of your life on hold for months or years. It can move forward now.
Getting divorced and resolving family law issues involves transitions that are not easy. I am an experienced divorce mediator and family lawyer, and I will guide you through these transitions with compassion, treating you and your concerns with respect. We will work together, one issue at a time, to create solutions that work for you and your family and ensure that the focus stays on the healthiest process and outcome for you and your children. I use only non-adversarial processes—mediation, collaborative law divorce, and out-of-court negotiations—which emphasize open, respectful communication. These methods of reaching agreements avoid the high costs, delays, and interpersonal conflict and stress that are typical of litigation through the courts. I have been practicing divorce law and mediation full time in Massachusetts since 2003 and successfully mediated over 1500 divorce cases. Before moving to Massachusetts, I was Staff Attorney at the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law in Los Angeles, and I served as Director of the Feinstein Institute for Legal Service at the Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, Rhode Island. I have been admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania, California, New York, and Massachusetts.

- Q. Uncontested No-Fault 1A divorce MA - If I have a prenup with my spouse, do we still need to file a financial statement?
- A: Yes, you do. The Financial Statements are the only way that a judge can evaluate your financial situation and decide if the division of property is fair and equitable and if the support is appropriate. The Financial Statements are signed under penalty of perjury. The court has no other way of knowing the fact of your financial situation.
- Q. If both parties want a divorce and don’t share any assets or kids do they still have to give financial documents?
- A: Yes, you do have to give financial statements. This is the only way that the court knows your financial situation and can judge whether a divorce agreement is fair.
- Q. My husband and I have 2 kids and he only wants to pay for daycare even thou the kids live with me ,can I get him to help
- A: Through a divorce process, you can get child support according to Massachusetts Child Support Guidelines. The calculation is based on each of your gross incomes, how much time each of you spends with the children, and how much each of you pays for health insurance, dental insurance for the children, and daycare. You can go on my website at www.amherstdivorce.com to use the free child support calculator and see how much child support should be paid.
