Joseph Robinson is the founder of Robinson Immigration Law (jkrfirm.com), where he helps high-skilled professionals and entrepreneurs navigate the U.S. immigration system. His work is driven by personal experience—he guided his wife through the U.S. immigration process, has lived abroad on a student visa in Germany, and is in the process of obtaining Portuguese citizenship. He brings empathy and first-hand understanding to clients pursuing visas such as the EB2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) and other employment-based visas.
Joseph graduated first in his class from the University of Tennessee College of Law, earning summa cum laude honors. He was inducted into the Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers, received the American College of Trial Lawyers Medal for Excellence in Advocacy twice, and externed for Judge Thomas A. Varlan of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Before founding Robinson Immigration Law, Joseph practiced complex litigation, representing clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies in industries like healthcare, franchising, and real estate. He has successfully advised clients before every level of the Tennessee court system and multiple federal district courts and appellate courts.
Joseph also holds a B.A. in Geography and M.A. in German, having studied at the University of Stuttgart. In his spare time, enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with his wife Sara and their Sheltie, Effie.
