John Daniel Hull
Dan Hull acts for publicly traded companies, executives, and public figures in the U.S. and abroad. Both highly-sought trial counsel and storied problem solver, he has worked in most American jurisdictions as well as throughout western Europe, especially England, France, Germany and Italy. Widely travelled, he's built an enduring network of aggressive, higher-end professionals and firms all over the globe.
Raised in Maryland, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio, Dan attended Highland Park, IL, and Indian Hill, OH, schools. At Indian Hill, he played basketball and tennis, edited the newspaper, and was senior class president. At Duke, he was an associate editor of The Chronicle, Duke's daily, where he wrote features, co-founded a weekly magazine, and covered the civil rights beat. Duke's student government chose Dan to serve as one of the first student members of Duke's Board of Trustees. At the University of Cincinnati's College of Law, he was an editor of the Law Review.
After working at Congress as an aide to a U.S. Senator (D-Wisconsin) and later to a U.S. Representative (R-Ohio), Dan was an associate and later a partner in the D.C. office of a midwestern American law firm. In 1996, with Julie McGuire, ALCOA in-house legend and international tax standout, he founded Hull McGuire with three U.S. offices in the U.S.
Since 2004, Dan has been a member and frequent panelist at the idea fest of Renaissance Weekends. Other affiliations are: 1 Night/1 Person, National Eagle Scout Assn., Lawyers Helping Lawyers, Wes Clark for President, and Hillary Clinton for President. A popular CLE instructor, he's taught discovery, depositions, and Congressional lobbying in over 25 jurisdictions. He holds Martindale-Hubbell's highest peer review rating of AV Preeminent.
