Job Leo Herrera
Herrera Law PC
I grew up in Koreatown, near downtown Los Angeles. My mom immigrated to this country from El Salvador so that I could have the opportunity to live the American Dream. She always stressed the value of education and encouraged me to do something with my life to help others, especially fellow immigrants living in this country.
My mom encouraged me to enroll in a magnet high school program and I chose to attend James Monroe High School's Law and Government Magnet Program. After James Monroe, I attended California State University, Northridge where I graduated with a B.A. in History. After college, I attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law where I graduated Magna Cum Laude, in the top 6% of my class.
While I attended Thomas Jefferson School of law, I focused on criminal law. I interned at the San Diego Public Defender's Office, Juvenile Division, representing minors in juvenile court. After my internship at the PD's Office, I completed a judicial externship at the California Court of Appeal where I helped draft unpublished opinions on criminal cases. After graduating from law school, I clerked for a private criminal defense attorney representing clients in state and federal court.
After receiving my license to practice law in the State of California, I worked at a personal injury law firm helping clients recover the compensation they deserved for their injuries. During my tenure at this law firm, I learned how to help clients battle against the big insurance companies that deny legitimate claims and leave clients with nothing after they have been injured. Most importantly, I learned the value of entrepreneurship and the pride that comes from owning your business.
I opened up my own office in downtown Los Angeles in April of 2015. My office focuses on personal injury and criminal defense, the two areas of law that I have focused on over my law school and professional career, because it allows me to help people and give back to my community.
