Jennifer Adams-Williams
Bolivar County
From the young age of six, I was determined to become an attorney to positively impact my community. I graduated with honors from Grenada High School in 2002 and was inducted into the National Honor Society.
As a talented musician and enthusiastic learner, I pursued further education at the University of Memphis. My academic achievements there included making the Dean's List and the National Dean's List, and I was also recognized in Who’s Who Among American College Students. I was nominated as a Candidate for the Truman Scholar distinction. My involvement extended to participating in the Gospel Choir, being a member of the University of Memphis Concert/Pep Band, Black Scholars Unlimited, and the Honors Program. I also served as a tutor at The Neighborhood School, worked on the campaign for former Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen, participated in the Tennessee Legislative Internship Program, and was a note-taker for Student Disability Services.
I then attended the University of Mississippi School of Law, where I earned my Juris Doctor in 2012. During my time there, I held several leadership roles including Limited Practice Attorney for the District Attorney Office for the Fifth District and for North Mississippi Rural Legal Services Street Law Clinic. I was also a BarBri Representative and Senior Partner Coordinator, and actively contributed to the University of Mississippi/Harvard Musicians Project. I was involved in various organizations such as the Law School Student Body Association, Public Interest Legal Foundation, ABA Student Division, Magnolia Bar Student Division, Environmental Law Society, Law Association for Women, Mississippi Sports Law Society, and Black Law Student Association. After law school, I clerked for the Washington County Youth and County Courts.
Since becoming a practicing attorney, I have been diligently working in multiple roles, continuing my commitment to the community and dedication to making progress within it.
