- Q. I bought a skid steer machine in march. I have just noticed that serial numbers are sanded down to hide the fact that it
- A: You should notify the police or sheriff about this because it can be a crime to alter serial numbers when it was done to misrepresent the identity of the item. You can also probably sue the seller for fraud. But you should talk to a lawyer about this first. What you can and should do will be determined by your lawyer knowing at all the facts.
- Q. what would be considered a premise that is "frequented by the public at large"
- A: Generally places that are open to the public fit in this category. Shopping centers, apartment complexes, office parking lots that also allow access to the public. Places that would not fit might be a fenced area with a gate that required a pass card or check in with a guard. The answer to your question can only be determined with full knowledge of the facts of the particular place in question. You should consult a lawyer.
- Q. Getting a conviction expunged
- A: Its hard to say for sure without more details about your conviction, but here is a link from the State of Tennessee that might help answer your question -- https://www.tn.gov/expunction.html -- felony theft is on that list. If you need more specific advice contact a lawyer in your area. Good luck.
