I owned and practiced in a full-service law firm for more than 25 years, where I tried civil cases before juries in personal injury, defamation, contract, DTPA, family and complex civil litigation matters. I also defended clients charged with serious criminal matters before numerous juries. At the same time, I counseled and represented clients in real estate, business, estate planning and probate matters. My practice in such a broad area of law provided me with the present insight to find creative solutions for my clients with diverse or unique estate planning needs.
Estate planning may be as simple as will package with medical and financial powers of attorney, a directive to physicians, and a transfer on death deed, or maybe a revocable living trust. It also may be extremely complex with irrevocable trusts designed to transfer significant wealth to avoid federal estate taxes on death. There is no one plan fits all, each client's situation is unique and should be treated as such by their attorney.
