Gary I. Elias

I have been actively practicing law for the past 40 plus years and have handled numerous matters in Estates, Trusts and Probate field in Surrogates Court as well as Guardianship and Elder Law matters in Supreme Court.

I am a member of both the New York City Bar and New York State Bar Trusts/Estates Committee and the Elder Law Committee (Co-Chairman of the Ethics Committee)

I am also on the Referral Attorney Panel in the area of Trusts/Estates and Elder Law for the New York City Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the Brooklyn Bar Association. I am also one of the few members on the New York City Bar Association Law Referral Committee.

Currently, I am on the Board of Directors of the Uptown Inter-Agency Council on Aging (UIC). In addition, I am a former Board of Director Member of both the East Side Council On Aging (ESCOTA) and West side Council on Aging (WSIACA).. I was also the Co-Chairman of the Subcommittee on Elder Abuse with former Judge John Stackhouse of the Supreme Court.

In addition, I have attained the rank of Captain in the New York Guard Reserve Judge Advocate General Unit specializing in Wills and Estates and donate my time pro bono, one Saturday a month to legally assist servicemen on their way to the Europe, the Middle East and retired military personnel at Fort Hamilton in Kings County.

I have been honored and named a “Super Lawyer” in the field of Trusts/Estates, Elder Law and Estate Planning/Probate.

Recently, I conducted a continuing legal education seminar for the Brooklyn Bar Association on “Current Issues in Estate Planning and Probate” .

Specialization in Estate Planning, Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Proxies and all Advance Directives. My services allow the clients to either come to my office or i can meet them in their home. All Covid protocols are followed.
