Biography
I have a strong interest in medicine and the law. Workers compensation law is a natural fit for me and I am blessed to be able to work with both doctors and lawyers every day. My interest in medicine definitely provides me an edge, a greater understanding, of my clients injuries and how the long term effects of a work injury can dramatically impact the ability to work and earn a living. in my practice of work comp law I am routinely questing doctors about their diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plans. This is very challenging yet very rewarding and it certainly results in consistently better and more just settlements for our clients.

- Q. Can my employer require me to see my PCP before company doctors for a work injury?
- A: It is not the doctor you see that matters but who they bill. For potential work injuries, work comp insurance is the proper party to bill for medical services. If your employer is paying 100% of the bill then you can see any doctor. But the claim still needs to be filed with the insurance company and the workers compensation appeals board ( work comp court). You should consult an experienced worker’s compensation attorney to learn more.
- Q. Can I seek compensation for a work-related medical condition after retiring?
- A: You probably can. Did you see a doctor prior to retirement and tell the doctor you think your symptoms might be work related? There are many factors to consider so a consultation with a workers compensation attorney would be beneficial
- Q. How do I convert a CA WCAB Finding into a judgment for enforcement in KY?
- A: I must assume the employer was uninsured being the reason you want to try to collect against them. Did you not join the UEBTF to your case prior to trial? I don’t understand how you could go to trial against an uninsured employer without joining the UEBTF? Did you have an attorney representing you?
