Biography

I have a strong interest in medicine and the law. Workers compensation law is a natural fit for me and I am blessed to be able to work with both doctors and lawyers every day. My interest in medicine definitely provides me an edge, a greater understanding, of my clients injuries and how the long term effects of a work injury can dramatically impact the ability to work and earn a living. in my practice of work comp law I am routinely questing doctors about their diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plans. This is very challenging yet very rewarding and it certainly results in consistently better and more just settlements for our clients.

Q. Dismissed attorney for Workmen’s Comp and need guidance on self-representation process.
A: your good to go. call claims adjuster and tell them you're the new sheriff in town; they deal with you now. Unfortunately, you don't know the rules of the game however. I recommend you find a better lawyer. they are out there. some have a free App so you can see your case status through every step of the process.
Q. How to collect on a WCAB Finding and Award not paid by employer?
A: Did you join the Uninsured Employers Benefits Trust Fund? If not, that is malpractice by your attorney. Once joined, this fund pays any award that the employer does not pay! You do not have to chase down the employer for payment. The fund pays you, then they try to collect from the employer.
Q. Injured at work, seeking advice on hiring a lawyer for workers' compensation.
A: yes, you should hire an experienced workers compensation attorney to help you through the complex work comp process. The claims adjuster at the insurance company assigned to your case, is your opponent, your adversary. The insurance company has a legal obligation to the employer and shareholders of the insurance company, first and foremost. So, the insurance company has named the person who will battle against you. Not only that, but they have attorneys to advise them the best ways to delay, deny, and otherwise reduce as much as possible your monetary compensation.

Who will you hire to battle for you? It costs the same whether you hire a first-year lawyer or 30-year veteran of work comp battles; 15% of the settlement of your case is set aside for attorney fees. There are no other fees, and you pay nothing out of pocket, ever.

so yes, you should always have an experienced attorney on your side.
