Maria Estela De Orduna, known as "Estela," is a distinguished Family Law Attorney licensed in California since 2006. With nearly two decades of experience, she is recognized for her expertise in handling family law matters, including international cases involving asset division, enforcement of foreign custody, and support orders. Estela has volunteered her expertise to assist the U.S. Department of State’s International Parental Abduction Unit on occasion.
Estela is highly skilled in strategic planning for divorce cases, focusing on property division, disclosure requirements, and custody and visitation matters. She has extensive experience addressing jurisdictional challenges in divorce and child custody cases. Estela is particularly adept at determining custody and visitation rights, navigating domestic violence cases, and collaborating with immigration attorneys to assist clients with related family law needs, including VAWA and U Visa applications.
Estela earned her LL.M. from the University of San Diego in 2002, following her Juris Doctor from Iberoamericana University in 1990. Her dedication and legal acumen have earned her numerous accolades, including the California State Bar’s Wiley W. Manuel Award for outstanding community service. She has been recognized as a San Diego Super Lawyer (2021–2025), a Platinum Client Champion by Martindale-Hubbell, and a Top 10 Best California Family Law Attorney by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys.
Her achievements also include the "Best Family Law in San Diego" award by the San Diego Union-Tribune in 2022 and being named one of the Top 100 Leaders in the Law by the San Diego Business Journal in 2022.
