Biography

Ellie Hassani, Esq was born and raised in Iran. After graduating from high school, she participated in the University Entrance Exam (Konkur), ranked 344 among thousands of examinees, attended law school, and obtained her Bachelor of Law degree in 2009. She then continued her education, ranked 63 among numerous examinees, and obtained a Master’s degree in Criminal Law and Criminology. She successfully passed the bar exam and practiced law for several years before moving to the United States in 2017. She took the LSAT exam in 2018 in the U.S. and subsequently was admitted to Appalachian School of Law (ASL) in Virginia in 2020 for a Juris Doctor (JD) program where she received Dean Scholarship due to excellent academic performance.

While at ASL, she interned for the Honorable Justice Cleo E. Powell at the Supreme Court of Virginia. When she was at ASL, she met her husband Ryan who is from Charleston, West Virginia. After graduation, Ellie moved to Charleston to live with Ryan and their lovely dog Rosie. She successfully passed the bar exam and began practicing law. Although Ellie is licensed in Washington, D.C. and West Virginia, she is authorized to practice immigration law in all 50 states.
