- A: Vehicle and Traffic Law Section 1202 (b) (2) prohibits parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
It is a non-moving violation which carries no points. A guilty plea to this section will have no impact upon one's driving record. It is often utilized by Town Prosecutors to reduce a speeding ticket to a no point violation.

1. The New York tickets should not impact your California license renewal at this time.
2. You should mail the ticket back to the court pleading not guilty. Put down your current address in the plea box (Section B). That is the address the court will use to notify you of a conference date.
3. This is a 4 point violation. You definitely will be able to reduce the points at a plea conference. You might even be able to reduce to a non-moving, no point violation. You can take a defensive driving course which will immediately reduce your point total by up to 4 points.

- A: You should plead not guilty as all speeding tickets in New York State carry points. Even though you are switching to a Connecticut license, the points would stay on your record in New York for 18 months. If you reach 11 points or 3 speeding convictions within 18 months your privilege to drive in New York will be suspended.
You should be able to plea bargain your ticket to reduce or possible eliminate the points.
