Dustin Harvey

I am an associate attorney at the Bagley Law Firm, where I handle family law, criminal defense, and routine civil litigation matters. I earned my undergraduate degree from Colorado State University before pursuing a law degree at the University of Wyoming’s College of Law.

Previously, I served as a Colorado State Public Defender for Colorado’s 13th Judicial District in Morgan and Washington counties. During this time, I represented indigent clients and adopted a “client-centered” approach to my practice, always prioritizing the needs of each case and focusing on the best interests of my clients.

After transitioning to private practice, I decided to focus on assisting clients with family law issues. I often deal with complex legal matters and am involved in drafting critical legal documents such as parenting plans, separation agreements, and contempt citations.

While my current focus is on family law and criminal defense, my professional background also includes working on class action lawsuits. This role sharpened my attention to detail as I was responsible for investigating, collecting data, and organizing information across a multi-firm database. My organizational skills not only supported my colleagues in learning and negotiating but also in litigating challenging cases effectively, especially when managing a large number of claimants.

Outside of my professional life, I am an avid outdoorsman, enjoying typical Colorado activities like hiking, running, and target shooting. I also have a fondness for my two cats, who, as the rumor goes, reciprocate my affection.
