5 Questions Answered
Q. Was in car accident not on insurance and seeking guidance
A: From the way you phrase the question, it sounds like you believe you caused the collision. You may want to go over the details with an attorney, just in case. If you were driving someone else's vehicle: Did you have permission to use the vehicle you were driving? If yes, and you were driving for personal use (not on the job - which you don't mention being on the job) then you should be covered by the car owner's auto insurance - the person that gave you permission to drive the car. The car's insurance is your insurance - at least for this accident. If you get sued, report it to the insurance that was on the car you were driving - they will hire a lawyer to defend you. If you haven't done so, be sure to contact the auto insurance for the car you were driving and report the accident to them - they "should" be your insurance. Put it in writing - email them your statement about what happened - so they can't claim you didn't report it to them. The insurance on the car should cover you in most cases - unless you were an excluded driver - which is sometimes the case, depending on the circumstances (would need to ask more questions to answer that).
Q. Can someone sue me if my sister(she was unlicensed) was the one who caused a accident in a car/ins under my name?
A: Yes, if she was unlicensed you can possibly be responsible for "negligently entrusting" your vehicle to an unlicensed driver.
Q. Lady lets man w/o license nor insurance but with criminal past drive her car. 2-car wreck results. Whom do victims sue?
A: I agree with Todd Kelly. There is a possible case against the woman who let the unlicensed driver have access to her car - if she knew he was unlicensed under a theory of Negligent Entrustment. Contact a lawyer to discuss your case. Even if the other driver has no insurance, there may be other insurance options. A personal injury lawyer that handles auto accidents should be able to discuss your case with you and help you determine if there is a way to pursue your case.
