Legal Answers
6 Questions Answered
Q. Hi, I would like to change my name on birth certificate, my legal documents are correct but I don't have a court order.
A: This is difficult since you are reside outside of the US. You do not meet the residency requirements for an Alabama name change. Seek out a California attorney for advice.
Q. I’m an RN and want to start a mobile wellness business. I know IV hydration is out but what other services can I offer?
A: Having a good compliance contact is necessary when starting your health wellness company. I have had clients succeed in starting their own physical therapy company, and RNs and CRNPs start their own telehealth / employee benefits wellness program. A growing opportunity for RN is partnering with businesses to provide wellness programs for employees, including health screenings, fitness challenges, and stress reduction workshops. I have also worked with RNs in the past that have done legal nurse consulting / expert witness work.
Q. what is the process of filing to contest a will?
A: In Alabama, the deadline to file a will contest in probate court is typically six months from the date the will is admitted to probate. The first question you must ask is whether a petition to admit the will to probate has been filed. Also important is whether you know of any other versions of a will that exist, and if the will in question is an original or not.
