He is the current Chair of the State Bar of Georgia's Elder Law Section and is a past-chair of the Tennessee Bar Association's Elder Law Section. David has been a member of the American Association for Justice since 1997 and, from 2006-2007, served as Chair of one of its national litigation groups. David holds memberships in other groups associated with elder advocacy such as the National Citizens' Coalition for Nursing Home Reform. David is a member of the Board of Directors of the Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership (re-joining the Board in 2008) and the Northwest Georgia office of Georgia Alzheimer's chapter. He is an advisory committee member for Peachtree Estates Assisted Living Facility and Ross Woods Adult Day Care Center. In 2008, David joined the Ethics Advisory Committee for Alexian Brothers in Chattanooga. David is a member of the Special Needs Alliance, a group of attorneys dedicated to the practice of disability and public benefits law.
