David Bunger

Dave Bunger grew up in North Texas and began a successful career in 1992 in mental health. During his career in public schools as a Licensed School Psychologist, Dave conducted extensive assessments of children with psychological and educational challenges. He assisted in the Admission Review and Dismissal (ARD) process for provision of special education services and advised Section 504 committees in the implementation of academic and behavioral accommodations. Dave also worked extensively on the development of educational programs to assist in monitoring the behavior of emotionally disturbed children. Dave spent countless hours providing knowledgeable, helpful, and caring therapy to individuals and families suffering from mental health issues. His special interest is Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and he enjoyed working specifically with teenagers that were faced with this challenge. Following his career as a mental health professional, Dave pursued a legal education and received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in 2006. After two years of private practice in the Dallas area focusing on family, criminal, and educational law, Dave joined the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office in 2008. During his tenure as a Chief Prosecutor of the financial crimes division, Dave gained invaluable experience in the judicial system and earned a reputation among local criminal defense attorneys as an outstanding litigator and negotiator. He handled hundreds of white collar crime cases and supervised numerous lawyers, investigators, and support staff while managing one of the largest divisions within the District Attorney’s office. In 2015, Dave rejoined The Bunger Law Firm with the goal of providing high quality, personalized legal services for individuals and families. Dave has enjoyed a long and successful career of helping individuals and families through difficult situations.
