I am a courtroom advocate, a boardroom adviser, and a big-picture strategist. After completing two federal clerkships, a stint as a litigator with one of the largest law firms in the world, and almost five years as a federal prosecutor leading the investigation and prosecution of complex financial and technological offenses, I joined up with my good friends Justin Agans and Eric Spengler to provide sophisticated, cost-effective legal advice and representation to individuals and businesses dealing with three classes of problems:
• White-Collar Defense: I represent individuals and business facing threatened or actual prosecutions for white-collar offenses, as well as inquiries from (or enforcement actions conducted by) regulatory authorities such as the SEC, the CFTC, the FTC, and the IRS.
• Civil Disputes: I represent individuals and businesses in commercial litigation, financial litigation, civil rights lawsuits, and qui tam/whistleblower actions. I work at both the trial and appellate levels, in federal, state, and administrative tribunals.
• Privacy and Data Security: As a CIPP/US/E & CIPM privacy professional, I advise our startup and small business clients on issues related to privacy and data security. I help clients build out their privacy programs, draft and revise privacy policies and notices, and perform PIAs/DPIAs. I also assist with incident preparedness and response, and I help clients coordinate with law enforcement as needed when they do experience a security incident.
