Daniel Shaffer
Shaffer Immigration Law PLLC
I am an immigration attorney focused on helping individuals and families navigate the U.S. immigration system with clarity and confidence. My practice centers on extraordinary ability green cards and marriage-based immigration, including the EB-1A, O-1, EB-2 NIW, E-2, L-1, IR-1, CR-1, and K-1 fiancé visa categories.
At Shaffer Immigration Law PLLC, a Washington, DC-based firm exclusively dedicated to U.S. immigration law, we prioritize quality over volume. By limiting the number of clients we take on, I ensure that each case receives the close attention and strategic care it deserves. Clients of my firm work directly with their attorney, not through layers of staff, so they always know who is handling their case. My mission is to provide responsive, transparent, and highly skilled representation for every client I serve.

- Q. Pending asylum case for 170 days, waiting for interview. What steps can I take?
- A: There is nothing you can really do to speed up the process, but you can prepare for the eventual interview by gathering evidence to support your claim. I would work with an attorney in this process who understands the rules and standards. While these cases have been speeding up in the new administration, many of them still take years before they are called for an interview. Ensure that your address and contact information are up to date so you don't miss any mail from USCIS.
