Born in Chicago and raised in Connecticut, Daniel Zarnowski moved to the Denver metro area after graduating magna cum laude from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami.
Prior to entering law school, Daniel was an aviation structural mechanic in the U.S. Navy, serving for five years and through three combat deployments aboard the Dwight D. Eisenhower CVN 69. This experience taught Daniel the value of service to others and how to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Daniel is also an avid golfer and likes to spend weekends hiking in beautiful Colorado with his wife and children!
In law school, Daniel became interested in family matters as a volunteer guardian ad litem. The impact of parenting time and decision making on the children was apparent in working with children in dependency cases.
Daniel completed over 100 hours of pro-bono work during law school, not only working with children but also engaging with other underserved communities. This work included time spent with Feeding South Florida and the Miami River Cleanup Commission.
Academically, Daniel graduated from law school in the top 5% of his class, ranking 8th out of 223 students. Daniel was a research assistant for a distinguished professor, helping her publish a forthcoming article, and was also a student instructor during his second year of law school.
Daniel interned for a federal district court judge and was employed by a civil litigation firm as a law clerk during law school, handling all aspects of litigation.
Throughout these experiences, Daniel has remained dedicated to helping others within his community through preparation and professionalism. He believes that working with families is rewarding and he is grateful for the opportunity to be involved with people on a personal level.

- Q. Can I apply for my child passport if I have sole legal custody? And Do I need the father to fill out DS-3053?
- A: The State Department is going to require some additional documentation to establish that you have the right to sign the form without the other parent, if you cannot get the other parent to write an affidavit (signed and notarized), you will have to provide the court order and other documents accompanying that such as the birth certificate etc. It may take longer to go through this process, so start early if you are planning a trip.
