Claudia Patricia Hurtado-Myers

Claudia Hurtado-Myers is a dedicated legal advocate with over two decades of experience serving victims of crime in the United States. She has worked extensively with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and human trafficking, ensuring they receive the legal protection and resources necessary to heal and rebuild their lives.

A recognized leader in victim advocacy, Claudia has been instrumental in educating legal professionals, law enforcement, and the judiciary on the unique challenges faced by marginalized crime victims, particularly immigrant survivors. She regularly conducts “know your rights” presentations and provides training on victim-based immigration relief, empowering both survivors and the professionals who serve them.

Claudia’s commitment extends beyond legal representation—she is a coalition builder, working to strengthen networks that support crime victims. Her pro bono efforts include serving as a volunteer attorney at the Artesia family detention facility, where she fought for detained families. For her work, she received the Oregon AILA Pro Bono Award and the AILA Michael Maggio Pro Bono Award in 2015.
