- Ashod’s assignments at the State Bar involved the most complex cases brought by the Office of Chief Trial Counsel. As the lead State Bar prosecutor in high-profile cases, Ashod was a ethics consultant for the District Attorney in Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties, the State Attorney General’s Office, among others. One of the more noteworthy cases handled by Ashod Mooradian involved the disbarment of a loan modification attorney who had illegally charged thousands of clients over $30,000,000 in fees. In another disbarment case, an immigration attorney had committed EB-5 visa fraud by charging 100 foreign investors seeking legal residency $500,000 each in fees. This case was joined by the USCIS, the US Attorney’s Office and SEC ultimately leading to federal criminal and civil charges being filed. Due to his extensive trial experience and knowledge of State Bar Court caselaw and the applicable ethics statutes and rules, Ashod was selected to train new hires at the State Bar.
