Andrew Stewart

Andrew Stewart graduated from George Washington University Law School in 2003. Since graduating he focused his practice on criminal defense of individuals and corporations in both DC and Virginia state and federal courts. In 2009 he co founded Dennis Stewart & Krischer PLLC and is presently serving as the managing partner of the firm. Mr. Stewart has extensive trial experience in both federal and state courts. He is also an adjunct professor at The George Washington University Law School.

Q. I lived in MD some ten years ago and has MD driving license. I have lived in another country since then.

A: You are required to update your license within 60 days of moving to Virginia. If you plan on remaining in Virginia you should obtain a Virginia license. If not, then you should get an updated license from your new state of residence.

Q. Does Virginia Code 19.2-11.01 cover the expenses of recovering a stolen car?

A: If the person who stole the car is prosecuted then you will be eligible to receive restitution from that individual for the the cost of getting your car from the tow lot.
