Amy U Hickman
AMY U. HICKMAN is a Florida Bar Board Certified Adoption Attorney and a founding partner of Hausmann & Hickman, P.A. As a recognized expert in adoption law and experienced litigator, Ms. Hickman has assisted in the creation of hundreds of families through adoption and surrogacy and represented parties in complex contested adoption, juvenile and surrogacy proceedings. Amy Hickman is a member of the prestigious Academy of Adoption and Reproductive Attorneys, the International Academy of Family Lawyers, and the Florida Adoption Council.
Amy Hickman worked to improve Florida’s adoption and child welfare laws. In association with nonprofit organizations and Florida Bar Family Law Section, Ms. Hickman has worked with the Florida legislature to pass significant legislation. She spearheaded the establishment of the Florida Bar’s Adoption Certification Program, the first such program in the United States.
Amy Hickman has received numerous honors for her work on adoption and children’s issues, including the U.S. Congressional Angel in Adoption Award; the Florida Bar Pro Bono Attorney of the Year, 15th Judicial Circuit; the Palm Beach County Legal Aid Society Pro Bono Child Advocate of the Year Award; and the Justice Harry Lee Anstead Award for Florida Bar Board Certified Lawyer of the Year.
