Ms. Appiah earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the State University of New York College at Buffalo, cum laude. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Appiah worked as a legal assistant and paralegal for the U.S. Small Business Admin. - Disaster Assistance Office in Niagara Falls, NY. The office provided federal loans and grants to those who suffered physical and/or economic damage to their homes and/or businesses as a result of natural disasters.
Attorney Appiah earned her law degree from Albany Law School in Albany, NY, in 2003. It was there that she gained extensive appellate experience through internships with the Albany County District Attorney's Office Criminal Appeals Division, the Hon. Thomas J. McAvoy in the U.S. Northern District Court of New York, as well as with the Corporations Division of the New York State Department of State.
After completing law school and moving to Florida, Ms. Appiah worked for a general practice firm. She then worked as a Program Attorney for the 6th Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program and Statewide Program, representing the best interest of children in juvenile dependency cases. She has been a solo practitioner from 2008 - present. Ms. Appiah contracted with the 10th Judicial Public Defender's Office as a Special Assistant Public Defender on felony criminal appellate cases until 2021. In addition, she has filed several registration applications with the U.S. Patent and Trade Office and the U.S. Copyright Office on behalf of clients. She is admitted to practice in FL state courts and in the U.S. Middle District.
Ms. Appiah has been a member of local professional organizations such as the St. Petersburg Bar Assoc., Clearwater Bar Assoc., Fred G. Minnis Bar Assoc., and the Pinellas Cnty. Chptr. of Florida Assoc. of Women Lawyers.
