Alan Brackett
Alan G. Brackett is a Founder and Member of Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett, one of the leading defense law firms in southeastern Louisiana. As a founding member, Alan has overseen the growth of MBLB as it has tripled in size. The firm has expanded from handling maritime, workers’ compensation and insurance defense work to developing and expanding their workers’ compensation practice, which is now nationwide, handling state workers’ compensation matters statewide, and adding a trucking and transportation practice.
Alan has decades of experience in maritime personal injury defense and litigates claims nationwide for large corporations and insurance companies, including Chubb and American Longshore Mutual Association. He is the lead attorney for the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA) defense team, where he also handles claims arising under the Defense Base Act (DBA) and War Hazards Compensation Act (WHCA). MBLB is one of a handful of firms in the nation who are known for their experience and expertise in this area of law.
Alan is known for being personally invested in his clients, many of whom he has worked with for decades. “I am a facilitator by nature. I like listening to people and solving problems. My goal is always to clearly understand the objectives of who I am representing, so everything can move toward that result on the best terms possible.”
Alan has developed a reputation as an extremely skilled defense litigator, who maintains the highest standards of professionalism, qualities that have attributed to him being widely recognized by his peers as one of the top in the industry through inclusion in Super Lawyers Top 50 New Orleans Lawyers and Super Lawyers Top 50 Louisiana Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America, New Orleans CityBusiness Leadership in Law Hall of Fame and New Orleans Magazine Top Lawyers.
